Cholesterol and Fat During Pregnancy?
The medical establishment would have you believe that cholesterol is one of the most evil substances in our diet.
The advice is construed to mean that you should have no butter, no eggs, and avoid liver and other animal fats.
Meanwhile these natural fats are to be replaced with corn and soybean oil, which are polyunsaturated oils that can
contribute to heart disease and aging due to their unnatural processing.
Ultimately, this is about the health and intelligence of you and your child. Guess what, our brain needs lots and lots
of cholesterol to function properly. The advice to replace traditional animal fats with new vegetable fats is therefore misplaced.
Cholesterol is a critical component to cell membranes. One of the highest sources in in egg yolks and in liver.
That is why it is crucial to feed babies high cholesterol foods like egg yolks and liver. These foods are also excellent for
pregnancy. Your body craves them, listen to what it is saying.
Cholesterol Does Not Affect Artery Plaque
We are told to fear cholesterol because it is supposed to cause arterial sclerosis. In Japan there are low risks of heart attack. Autopsies performed on Japanese people show that they have the same level of arterial plaque as American's, despite their vast differences in the rate of heart attacks. This means that the level of cholesterol in the blood has little to do with whether one has arteriosclerosis or not. In other words, you can eat animal fat and enjoy it too.
Cholesterol is Good For Us
People with high cholesterol live the longest, and many studies have found that low cholesterol in certain respects can be worse than high cholesterol.
Mind Your Fats
Good fats are butter, egg yolk, organs of organic land animals, like liver, and bone marrow, organic lard, and organic beef, chicken or duck fat. I do not support factory farms or raising animals in cruel ways. You can find higher quality fats from your local health food store or farmer's market. There are also many farms to order directly from over the internet.
